Jennifer Gardner, head of people at Deliverect – “This is my first IWD as Head of People at Deliverect. I’m excited that we are celebrating our female employees with a month-long campaign in line with this year’s International Women’s Day theme #Choosetochallenge.

With 30% of our workforce identifying as female, we are focused on creating an inclusive workplace that encouraging women to technical and leadership paths.

International Women's Day celebrations

For International Women’s Day, we are supporting IWD’s theme for 2021 #Choosetochallenge with t- shirts for our wonderful staff from around the world along with gift boxes for our female employee’s. We will be gathering together for a virtual luncheon and later in the day the entire organisation is invited to join our IWD virtual event, where Catherine Barba, who serves on the board of directors at Renault and Etam as well as being named as one of the 50 most influential figures in Europe’s digital economy, will be speaking about how we challenge and better the existing landscape of digital, innovation, and women in technology. She will also be discussing how by challenging we change, and how we all play a part in forging gender equality.

Catherine is a New York-based French entrepreneur and a leading figure in technology innovation. She has a deep understanding of social issues surrounding women in technology. She has contributed to events such as La Journée de la Femme Digitale (Digital Women Day) and was the Legion d’Honneur by Marlene Schiappa, French Minister of State for Gender Equality. In 2015 and 2016, Catherine was named as one of 50 most influential figures in Europe’s digital economy. She has received “Femme en Or” award in 2011, “Alumni of the Year ESCP Europe” award in 2012, and “Knight of the National Order of Meritin” award in 2012 for her contribution to flourishing digital retail in France.

Honouring women all month

Our celebration of women will continue throughout March. We will be celebrating our female employees and customers on our social channels, highlighting their achievements. We’re proud to have them share their perspectives and experiences with our community.

“I am lucky to have a professional and personal environment where fighting is not necessary. Everyone exists for their personality and experience and everyone is listened to. However, when I am faced with situations where the treatment of men and women is not equal, I allow myself to make the point and understand what may have caused this situation. - Astrid Duchene, Flora Danica (Groupe Bertrand)

Our four operations are run by women, and this is certainly no coincidence! Our management committee is strictly equal. A way of setting an example to move things forward. I would like to see more women in the kitchens and in the trade union organizations that represent us in the years to come, it's up to us to work there. - Aurore Bégué, Chai 33, Deck, Iombem

Having joined Deliverect in September of last year, I am proud at how we are addressing diversity and inclusion with transparency and a people first approach. IWD 2021 is about choosing to challenge gender inequality, whether that be in or out of the workplace. Here at Deliverect we do all we can to address important conversations in the workplace.

Growing an inclusive and diverse company

Our primary focus is our people, as without them we could not provide innovation and excellence in service to our customers, so it is of vital importance we listen to our employees and celebrate those women in our company who have helped us have an amazing year of growth in 2020. We are extremely excited to be welcoming all our staff members on 8th March to our virtual event and hope it inspires some interesting conversations. 2021 is going to be a big year for us as we continue to grow and putting people at the heart of our operation is vital to our future success.

Commenting on the event, Catherine Barba, added: “Deliverect is a pioneer in its field and I am honoured to speak at this International Women’s Day event this year. I have been an advocate for women in technology for many years, and I cannot wait to engage with their team.”

We have already employed 35 new staff members in 2021 and we are looking to increase our headcount from 150 to 300 over the next 12 months. As part of our efforts to attract top talent from the tech sector to help drive business growth we aim for 35% of these roles to be filled by women.”
